Bycatch

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Check out the old news about bycatch and wastage on http://ledbetter.freepgs.com/bycatchwastage.html. It’s a reprint of a famous article from BC, Canada.

Yeah, salmon.

Jamaican Sun

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Late Summer is the off season in the Caribbean. So the prices are at their best. But even if you do not want to brave the hot weather down south in order to take advantage of the travel and hospitality discounts, those wet and bleak months of Autumn will soon be here: you know what I mean–the cold rainy overcast days up north in October and November. That’s when it is time to take a trip through the all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, like the super inclusive adult vacations where you are completely provisioned with the best super deluxe accommodations, all meals and snacks (deluxe snacks), premium super deluxe beverages, fantastic land and water sports, and a super-duper number of extra activities and luxuries.

Search the www.superclubs.com website for competitively priced all inclusive
Negril, Jamaica get-aways. Check out the superclubs where your only duty is to meet people like you and relax in the sun.

Just get a taste of the Island life. Why worry. Be happy. Discover the all inclusive jamaica vacations. Make the trip down to a Super Inclusive Superclub this week. The weather is almost always perfect.

Southern Hedonism–Great Fun

Friday, August 8th, 2008

We do not have much hedonism in Canada (well, we do during the summer, especially up north and on the west coast beaches). In Canada, Canadians spend too much time working, and not enough time playing. We begin to feel like strangers. We become isolated, and the autumn months are usually rainy and cold and depressing. So I’ll tell you: here’s a good idew: fly down to the all inclusive resorts, the hedonism resorts this winter, or get their early, during September, October and November, while the rates are low and the weather up north is wet. Take advantage of the fantastically priced all inclusive adult vacations, the relaxation in the sun, the adult parties, and food and drink. Be happy.

Superclubs has everything you want at the all inclusive Negril, Jamaica vacation resort: friends, entertainment, deluxe accommodations, great meals and snacks and drinks–unlimited premium beverages–and tons more. Spend some money while you are still young. Saving everything for retirement is risky business.

Spend the Summer in San Diego

Monday, July 28th, 2008

I have visited San Diego quite a few times, and from what I know, san diego beach real estate is quite expensive, even in todays depressed market. In fact two years ago I met a family man from San Diego in the Phoenix airport, and he was saying that his house had increased in value to the point that he was having trouble selling it.

So you can imagine that san diego weekly rentals are quite deluxe and in demand, especially vacation rentals. I mean wouldn’t you just love to move into a San Diego summer beach rental? The climate is just about perfect along the shores of the San Diego area, with plenty of culture and activities to keep you busy. Mexico lies just south and LA is just a short ride north.

Becoming a Flight Attendant

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

The news is full of items and features about the rise in fuel prices, how it affects tourism and travel, especially the airlines, many of which are canceling flights, chopping routes, and charging more for services and for bags. So I imagine that travelers are becoming disgruntled, agitated, upset, even angry, which means that the airline personnel on the flights are only too happy to have attended a good hospitality and flight attendant school, a school like aha.edu, the International Air and Hospitality Academy, where many aspiring people of all ages embark upon a flight attendant career.

The International Air and Hospitality Academy’s flight attendant blog helps students and professionals keep up with the business of flying commercially. Their recent post discusses the ongoing mergers within the airline industry and how those mergers will affect employment and management. Like it says, “Smell the coffee before you take a professional sip. If you have the pallet for mixed greens, choosing a Flight Attendant Career is like riding a roller coaster.”

Portland Custom Crates and Exporting

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Industrial Craters & Packers, a builder of custom shipping crates Portland, has a web site that provides businesses an excellent summary of their available services and an online form with which business managers can ask for custom quotes: quotes for Crating, Ocean Containers, Shrink Wraps, Rail Loading, Military Packaging, CAD Design, and Hazmat.

Industrial Craters & Packers provides reliable Portland onsite crating services. And from what I have been told about the Portland, Oregon, area, businesses can rely on Industrial Craters & Packers, www.indcrt.com, for all their crating Portland requirements, particularly custom crating and export crating. Corporate leaders and managers choose Industrial Craters & Packers, the known leader when it comes to providing custom crates in Oregon for shipping, exporting, local moves, and storage. Fromm what I understand, Intel and numerous conglomerates use the services provided by Portland Industrial Craters & Packers.

Portland Crating and Ocean Containers

Friday, May 30th, 2008

We have been hearing for years (or decades) now about industry moving offshore, and it is a shame when they have to relocate outside of America in order to save production expenses, but given that they do move away, just who do Portland businesses hire for all that portland export crating? From what I hear, even Intel hires Industrial Craters & Packers, www.indcrt.com. I am not saying that Intel is leaving America, just that when they move supplies or offices or send products overseas, they hire Industrial Craters & Packers to do the portland crating job.

Industrial Craters & Packers provide portland crating services, including custom crating, and their web site gives business a very good summary of the available services as well as an online form with which business managers can ask for custom quotes, including quotes for Crating, Ocean Containers, Shrink Wraps, Rail Loading, Military Packaging, CAD Design, and Hazmat.

London and Paris

Friday, May 16th, 2008

While you are in England, you and your friends should check out of your favorite London Hotels for a few nights and check in to one or two Paris Hotels. Yes Paris can be expensive, but the food is amazing, as is the art (don’t miss the Louvre), and you won’t find true Parisian culture anywhere else.

And while you are in London (shopping at Picadilly Cirus, visiting the museums and the Royal Society), have a look at England. Make the scenic drive to Birmingham (but first make reservations at Birmingham Hotels). Catch a soccer game in Manchester. You will find inexpensive Manchester Hotels on www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk.

France in a Car

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

While traveling, many tourists prefer small towns and hamlets, like the ones you will see on your road trip through France. And France certainly has the road systems and plenty of hotels to accommodate your last minute roadside plans. But I generally prefer cities, and I generally trust big city hotels, like Paris Hôtels and Toulouse Hôtels.

Of course I would drive toward the seashore and stay in Marseilles Hôtels. Or if I was looking for fine wines, I would book a few nights in the Bordeaux Hôtels.

Traveling through Europe by car is an extraordinary experience. My parents made the journey with us kids years ago, and when I was younger, I hitchhiked through Italy.

Driving Through Germany

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

I hear that driving in Germany is a real gas (so to speak) and that after driving there tourists find the speed limits at home to be way to low. Well I am not an expert on road safety, but I can tell you that if your are going to tour Germany by car, you will need to make reservations for Berlin Hotels and most definitely for Munich Hotels.

While you are there, you should make reservations at Frankfurt Hotels and at Köln Hotels, as well. You never know when you will be able to get back to Europe, especially with all the rising prices, which brings to the point: making reservations online can save both time and money and reduce stress, especially if you are a business traveler with no time to spare.

Non-greasy Sunscreens that Will Not Irritate

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

We all know how important sunscreen is to our long-term health, and as a desert and mountain hiker, I use a lot of it for many hours at a time, mostly on my neck, face, and arms (I rarely wear shorts, and if I did not get so hot, I would wear long sleeves, too). So I am always looking for sunscreens that will not irritate my skin, especially my nose, and that will provide sports protection in the sun while not accumulating in globs on my forehead and below my nose and eyes. And most important of all, I want full-spectrum coverage.

Screen, Inc. has brought out a new line of “non-greasy, non-irritating and dermatologist-approved” sunscreen products (these products have received the Seal of Recommendation from the Skin Cancer Foundation). Their sunscreens are specially made for the face and neck, and that is part of the reason the formula is non-greasy and non-irritating.

I buy Promax

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Egg whites, fish, lean meat, protein powders and high protein bars are basic foods in my house. I have egg whites at breakfast, a protein powder shake at lunch and an all natural energy bar when I’m hungry for a snack on the trail or on the road (and when I’m skiing). Promax makes 70 Calorie Bars, and that is the sort of product I look for between meals.

I eat healthy snack bars for lunch when I’m hiking. And at home, I watch my calcium. Promax makes calcium supplements in addition to protein bars and shakes.

My workouts at the gym and outdoor activities on the trail and on the ski slopes require protein, lots of protein, the kind of protein that I can easily digest. Promax is a brand I look for in grocery stores, sports outlets, and health food stores. I especially enjoy Promax flavors, from cookies and cream to double fudge. Delicious.

Take a Trip to Australia

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

If you are looking for Accomodation in Sydney or Accomodation in Melbourne then look no further than www.cheaperthanhotels.com.au, a very clean, fast loading website full of information relevant to your upcoming vacation. They guarantee the lowest rates, and you pay upon arrival.

Go ahead and give it a try. Use their search module to find Accomodation in Brisbane and if you plan to travel throughout Australia (as most visitors do — after all, after the long flight, you deserve to spend more that just a day or two looking around), take a look at the Accomodation in Perth on www.cheaperthanhotels.com.au.

Australia is known for its unique wildlife and for its nightlife, too (my brother once spent a year playing piano at the nightspots in numerous Australian cities and loved every minute of his extended trip). Australia hosts numerous cultural and artists’ festivals, and provides delightful tours of the Great Barrier Reef and wildlife preserves.

Have fun!

Drug Rehab in Malibu

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Kicking the habit, getting through the pain of withdrawal, then facing the facts, the situations and personal failings and problems that make you vulnerable to addiction — the process of recovery is not easy. So why not provide yourself a comfortable environment in which to embark on the Drug Rehab journey? Your first step toward choosing that environment is just a toll-free phone call away: 1-888-661-1980. (I put this number right up front here because it might be just what you are searching for right now.)

Luxury Drug Rehab (www.drugrehab-drugrehab.com) is a private facility in Malibu, California, that encourages family involvement in patients’ personalized treatment programs. The center emphasizes the key fact that in addition to physical and psychological healing, in addition to withdrawal and self-confrontation, treating a broken life entails treating broken relationships.

This private Malibu drug treatment center gives its clients private rooms, private fitness trainers, luxurious massages, and gourmet meals made to order.

Criminal Background Checks

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

This is an age of world trade, mobility, travel, terrorism, litigation, rising costs, and higher insurance premiums. We live in dangerous times, and as employers we must watch our clients’ and customers’ backs. And we must keep out bottom lines from being sunk by the cost of insurance and the cost of lawyers. In short, we must conduct employment background checks, investigations that will most likely include a search for an employee’s county criminal history, federal criminal history, and international criminal history, plus a national sex offender search, a homeland security/patriot act search, and an inquiry with the office of the inspector general (oig) and the terrorist watch list. We will want to know about the employee’s previous employment and we will want to verify employment references and level of education. We can also find out about the the prospective employee’s driving history and credit history.

Employee Reference Service Northwest, Inc., www.ersnw.com, provides employee screening.
